Program Description / Services
The DPH Chronic Disease Tobacco Team provides technical assistance (T.A.) for the state of Colorado in the area of smoke-free multiunit housing. We provide education, formal trainings, resources, and hands-on and one-on-one assistance to housing providers who wish to implement smoke-free policies. T.A. is also offered to local health agencies that are supporting housing providers in making properties smoke-free.
In addition to statewide technical assistance, Denver Public Health has a community smoke-free housing program that provides tobacco education and prevention services, as well as links to cessation resources throughout the City and County of Denver. DPH provides one-on-one on technical assistance to housing providers working to implement smoke-free policies at multiunit housing properties. DPH can also provide mentoring for other LHAs taking part in smoke-free housing activities.
As technical assistance providers for smoke-free multiunit housing, we serve housing providers, attorneys practicing housing law, and local health agencies across the state of Colorado.
At the local level we work with local housing providers in the city and county of Denver who wish to implement or strengthen smoke-free policies in multiunit housing.
We work with all types of housing, with special emphasis on properties that serve at-risk and disparate populations and those disproportionately affected by tobacco use.
