Program Description / Services
Education and awareness of the science and data supporting smoke-free and tobacco-free policies for MUH settings; promotion of policies to protect residents, staff and visitors from secondhand smoke exposure.
1) Technical assistance and sample materials provided for easy transition to smoke-free or tobacco free policies for multi-unit housing;
2) Recommendations based on best practice and model policies;
3) Training with property managers on the health, economic and fire safety benefits of smoke-free multi-unit housing;
4) Presentation to local residents on the health, economic and fire safety benefits of smoke-free multi-unit housing; and
5) Statewide cessation resource promoted – S.C. Tobacco Quitline 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
Our program works with public housing, private and public property management and owners, subsidized and market rate.
