Program Description / Services
The Tobacco Free Program applies to any and all persons living in Harrisonburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA) properties, including residents, their guests and visitors, and to all persons entering HRHA properties, including contractors and employees. HRHA desires to mitigate the irritation and known health effects of smoking and tobacco use, as well as second hand smoke for our tenants and employees. A no smoking policy also reduces the risk of fires from smoking. All HRHA properties are designated and marketed as smoke and tobacco free. Sentara RMH Hospital was a partner in the implementation of the program. They provided educational materials and smoking cessation classes for any tenants or employees that requested additional assistance.
We work with multi-family, tax credit and project-based housing.
